Home    Gilbert’s Riparian Preserve a Popular Sport for Birders and Arizona Active Adults

Arizona is renowned as one of the best places to see birds.  And while serious birders have long sought exotic places for bird watching, one of the state’s birding hotspots is located only 15 minutes from Sunland Springs Village.

The Riparian Preserve in Gilbert has more than 200 species of birds that can be seen throughout the year. The preserve also features 4.5 miles of walking trails and fishing at the recreation lake at Water Ranch.

This unique area was designed to utilize recycled water to create community wetland wildlife sanctuaries for recreation, education and research. The nearby Riparian Institute also offers programs and classes to the public, like birds walks, kids camps and programs, and public viewings at the new observatory.
